Women’s Rights Information Center, a community based nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, was established in 1973 in response to the needs of women caught up in a changing society. The Center believes in helping women to help themselves by providing a variety of informational, educational, and practical life-enhancing programs in a positive and supportive environment. Their mission is to help women learn and develop the skills they need to move toward economic self-sufficiency in order to provide for themselves and their families.
Northeast New Jersey Legal Services
NNJLS’ mission is to ensure that access to the civil justice system is not denied to any resident simply because he or she cannot afford a private attorney. NNJLS has fifty years of experience in providing legal assistance to people in need, and our attorneys and support staff are dedicated to providing residents with the highest-quality legal services. NNJLS staff attorneys are experienced in Housing, Family, Public Benefits, and Consumer Law. NNJLS also has special programs for survivors of domestic violence, senior citizens, veterans, persons living with HIV/AIDS, the homeless, immigrants, and low-income persons with federal tax issues. Our services include legal representation in court and before administrative agencies and other legal advocacy. They also provide community legal education regarding issues of concern to the low-income residents of our service area.

Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV) is a division of the Bergen County Department of Human Services, which is exclusively devoted to domestic violence intervention and prevention.
ADV offers a full range of specialized services including:

WEN on the GO! corporate—sponsored by leading area corporations committed to attracting, retaining, and developing talented women—brings one relevant, high-impact program each quarter to professional women in women’s networks, women’s leadership groups, and business resource groups across sponsoring organizations.
WEN on the GO! small business gives woman-owned companies, entrepreneurs, independent consultants, and gig workers ways to network, exchange ideas, and get actionable advice on growing their business.
Northeast NJ SCORE
SCORE is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping emerging and existing small businesses maximize their potential for success by providing free, confidential, professional business counseling. Help is given to aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their companies and to small business owners solve problems.
The Northeast NJ chapter has more than 40 mentors, all are active, semi-retired or retired executives who have either achieved top-level positions in major firms or have owned and operated their own small- to mid-size companies. You can request advice from a local mentor and affordable workshops are offered on a variety of important business related issues.
